The film was delayed after the success of 90 (2011) released in September of 2011 starring Sadhu Kokila.[4] The film was not released on 11 November 2011 since eleven is considered unlucky and was released the following week alongside Aata (2011).[5]
Reception
A critic from The Hindu wrote that "Touted as tender lover story, Achu Mechu is a torture to sit through despite the presence Tarun Chandra and Archana Gupta in the cast. The film is badly let down by the storyline and screenplay though its theme is ageless: love unbound by age".[6] A critic from IANS rated the film 1+1⁄2 out of 5 and wrote that "Over all Achchu Mechchu is a disappointing fare".[7] A critic from Indiaglitz wrote that "The content of this film is as if it is derived for the purpose of remaining novel. The approach is laudable but not the treatment for the content".[8]
