Yalta (Template:Lang-uk) is an urban-type settlement in Mariupol Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. It was founded by Ukrainian Greeks, whose settlement in Southern Ukraine was sanctioned by Empress Catherine the Great,[3] and is named after Yalta in Crimea. Population: 4,700 (2022 estimate).[2]
During the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, as part of the Russo-Ukrainian War, Yalta was invaded and occupied by Russian forces.
