History

[edit]

NeueHouse was founded in 2011 by Joshua Abram, Alan Murray and James O'Reilly.[1][2] Its first workspace opened in May 2013 in New York[3] alongside a hardcover print publication named NeueJournal.[4][5]

In 2015, the company raised $25 million venture funding by Great Eagle Holdings.[6][7] In November 2018, NeueHouse raised $30 million from outside investors and hired new leadership.[8]

NeueHouse operates buildings in New York and Los Angeles. The New York building is located in 110 East 25th Street in Manhattan.[9][10] In Los Angeles, it leased the CBS Columbia Square building and opened in October 2015.[11][12]

In 2021 NeueHouse opened on the second floor of the Bradbury Building in Downtown Los Angeles. In December 2022, a third Los Angeles location opened in Venice Beach.[13]

The company organizes live events including content releases and cultural programming.[15] In 2021, it held several movie premieres in the Los Angeles location.[16]

Membership at NeueHouse is by invitation only. The prices range from $200 to $1,500 per month or with an annual Salon membership.[3][15][17]
