José Abad (4 June 1932 – 4 September 1980) was a Spanish-Chilean television presenter and radio host. He was one of the first news anchors in Chilean television during the 1960s and 1970s.

He was one of the few anchors to work in the first three Chilean TV channels: Televisión Nacional de Chile, Universidad Católica de Chile Televisión and Canal 9 de la Universidad de Chile. He Started in 1964 as anchor of the El Reporter Esso in UCTV, later was hired by Canal 9 to anchor El Continental and in 1970 he returned to UCTV to anchor Teletrece.

Since 1975 until his premature death in 1980 he anchored 60 Minutos in Televisión Nacional.[1]
