Almota is an extinct town in Whitman County, in the U.S. state of Washington. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place.[1]

A post office called Almota was established in 1878, and remained in operation until 1961.[2] In 1917 it was reported as on the line of the Oregon–Washington Railroad and Navigation Company.[3] The community took its name from Almota Creek.[4]
