Bernard Hanks (September 19, 1884 - December 12, 1948)[1] was a founder of Harte Hanks. After attending Baylor University, Hanks worked for a time in the grocery business, but was soon working for the Abilene Daily Reporter. Hanks began managing the newspaper sometime in the 1920s. Around that time Hanks met San Angelo Standard-Times owner, Houston Harte. The two would go on to found what would become Harte Hanks.
