Lop Lop is a studio album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow. It was released on December 3, 2011 by the Italian label Rustblade, and is his first release on the label. The title is a reference to Loplop, a bird-like alter ego of dada and surrealist Max Ernst. Rustblade says that Lop Lop is "a step in a new direction" and that "synths and guitars scream and sing in a way which allows them to be heard through all the oppressive noise".[1]
The album was announced when a short trailer featuring the track "Canaanda" was posted to YouTube[2] "Madoromi" means to doze or nap in Japanese, "Hakutouwashi" means bald eagle. "Sujata & Asoka" are common Indian names.
Packaging
The standard edition includes a CD, a sticker, and comes in a square keep case with a cardboard slipcover.[1] The limited edition includes an additional CD, a postcard, a pendant, and comes in a keep case. The deluxe edition includes all of that plus a CDr in a hand-painted sleeve, a T-shirt, an engraved metal plate, an art print, a certificate of authenticity, and comes in a plastic box.
