Artist depiction of Dewangiri

Dewangiri was northern parts of Kamrup, which were ceded to Bhutan in 1951.[1] The area contains ruins of ancient temples and loose structures. In modern times it lost its earlier importance and used only in winter for grazing Bhutanese for an annual fees to India, before ceded to Bhutan.[2]
