Chen Pei-jer

Pei-Jer Chen (Chinese: 陳培哲; born 1955) is a Taiwanese hepatologist.

He earned a medical degree from National Taiwan University in 1981, and completed a doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania. He returned to NTU as a postdoctoral researcher, then joined the faculty in 1987.[1][2] He was elected a member of Academia Sinica in 2006, and into The World Academy of Sciences in 2011.[3]

Chen specializes in hepatitis research.[4][5] He helped treat patients during the 2003 SARS outbreak,[6][7] and has attended several functions of the World Health Organization.[8][9]
