Leptacanthichthys gracilispinis, the Plainchin dreamarm, is a species of dreamer found in the northern oceans at depths of around 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) occasionally as deep as 2,000 metres (6,600 ft). Females of this species grow to a length of 6.9 centimetres (2.7 in) SL while the parasitic males grow only to as long as 0.8 centimetres (0.31 in) SL. This species is the only known member of its genus.
