H. Dean Evans (Harold Dean Evans) was born at his parents' home on September 1, 1929. He served as the State Superintendent of Indiana from June 6, 1985 to January 11, 1993. At age 75, Evans died peacefully in his home on October 2, 2004.

Education

Evans attended Franklin College for an Education degree. He then attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to receive his M.A. in Counseling. Finally, he attended Indiana University in 1966 to receive his doctorate degree.
