A pelvic binder is a device used to compress the pelvis in those with a pelvic fracture in an effort to stop bleeding.^[1] They are specifically recommended for open book pelvic fractures and might not be useful in those with lateral compression fractures.^[2]

A bed sheet may be used as well.^[1] The device should be placed over the upper femurs specifically the greater trochanters.^[1] It should only be used short term.^[1] Complications can include skin ulceration.^[1]
