Richard J. Willard was an American prison administrator. Along with Arthur M. Dollison he was the last Associate Warden of Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary under Olin G. Blackwell from 1961 until the institution closed on March 21, 1963. During his time as warden, he had also served as a caretaker at the prison. He had been transferred previously from Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Island. During his time as warden at Alcatraz, he had dealt with a brief invasion of Sioux Indians in March 1964.
