William W. Screws (1839-1913) served as the 19th Secretary of State of Alabama from 1878 to 1882.
Screws was admitted to the Montgomery County Bar on June 15, 1859 and immediately entered the practice of law. He received an honor degree from the University of Alabama in 1906.
He got married on April 25, 1867 and had four children.[1]
