Szemud [ˈʂɛmut] (German: Schönwalde, Kashubian: Szëmôłd) is a village in Wejherowo County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Szemud.[1] It lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) south of Wejherowo and 30 km (19 mi) north-west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

The village has a population of 1,639.[citation needed]
