Sobechukwu Charles Umeh, professionally credited as Sobe Charles Umeh is a Nigerian film producer and director, he is best known for producing and directing Bad Drop, featuring Stan Nze and Kalu Ikeagwu,[1] as well as the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice (AMVCA) winning movie Amonye Bu Onye.[2]
Early life
Umeh was born in Enugu, Southeast Nigeria, to civil servant parents, Sir and Lady Elias Umeh. His father retired as a director of Education, while his mother retired as a Principal. He is the last of six children.[citation needed]

In 2014, Umeh married Isioma Concilia.
Career
Umeh began his film-making career with his debut short film Tale of Sorrow which he produced and directed. He relocated to Glasgow, Scotland where he worked with Next Step initiative Scotland to produce a short film on climate change titled My Duty which he wrote, produced and directed. After completing his master's degree programme in 2014 Umeh relocated to Nigeria where he started his Film production company 1st Rate Pictures.[3] In 2015 he co-produced his first feature-length film Bad Drop, with Actor/Producer Stan Nze, which also served as his feature length Directorial Debut.[4] The film went ahead to win several nominations, and also won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Best of Nollywood Awards in 2015.[5]
