Hosh Bannaga (Arabic: حوش بانقا), 150 kilometres north of the capital Khartoum, is located in the outskirts of Shendi in the River Nile state. It is the birthplace of former Sudanese president Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir.[1] 16°39′34.4″N 33°20′47.0″E / 16.659556°N 33.346389°E / 16.659556; 33.346389[2]
