Wilson arrived in the Armidale area around 1869, and worked as a council clerk before becoming an alderman and mayor. In 1898 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the National Federal member for Armidale; he was defeated in 1901. Wilson died at Paignton in Devon in 1926.[1]
