David A. Scholz (April 12, 1948 – December 5, 2015) was an American National Basketball Association (NBA) player.[1] While at Stephen Decatur High School, Scholz was an All-State selection and led his team to the Elite Eight of the state tournament his junior and senior seasons. At the University of Illinois, Scholz was a two-time, first-team All-Big-10 selection and an AP All-American third team selection. At the time of graduation, Dave was Illinois' all-time leading scorer.[2] Scholz was taken with the thirteenth pick in the fourth round of the 1969 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played in one game for the 76ers, recording two points.[3] Scholz later resided in Nashville, Tennessee.[2]
