Koutu is a suburb of Rotorua in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island.

It is located on the southwest shore of Lake Rotorua.

The suburb has two marae. Koutu or Karenga Marae and Tumahaurangi meeting house is a meeting place of the Ngāti Whakaue hapū of Ngāti Karenga. Taharangi Marae and Maruahangaroa meeting house is a meeting place of Ngāti Kea Ngāti Tuarā and the Ngāti Whakaue hapū of Ngāti Taharangi.[1][2]
