Lawrence Joseph Hanley (June 24, 1956 – May 7, 2019) was an American bus driver and labor leader, born in Jamaica, Queens, New York City. Hanley died at the age of 62 from pulmonary disease.[1] From 2010 until his death, he was International President of the Amalgamated Transit Union.[2][3][4] He was from Staten Island and was a co-founder of the Working Families Party.[5]
