Cleveland Public Theatre

Cleveland Public Theatre is a theater and arts complex in Cleveland, Ohio, founded in 1984 by James Levin. It is located at 6415 Detroit Avenue on Cleveland's west side in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood. It will be one of the three anchors of the proposed Gordon Square Arts District. It is often associated with works that are progressive, political, or confrontational. In 2004 Levin became officially uninvolved with the theater to begin the Ingenuity Festival. Raymond Bobgan, named in 2009 as one of American Theater Magazine's 25 artists who will shape the future of American theatre,^[1] was appointed CPT Executive Artistic Director in 2006.

It is the home to the resident companies SAFMOD (SubAtomic Frequency Modulation OverDose), GroundWorks Dancetheater, TitleWave Theatre and New World Performance Laboratory.
