Spirit Mountain, also known as Avi Kwa' Ame in Mojave, is a mountain in the Laughlin, Nevada area that is listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. It is part of the Newberry Mountains in Nevada and the summit is the highest point in the Spirit Mountain Wilderness.[2][3]
History
Spirit Mountain is the center of creation for all Yuman speakers.[4]
The mountain, listed as a Traditional Cultural Property, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 8, 1999.[5][6]
