Siluria Technologies, Inc. is a San Francisco-based company, founded in 2008,[1] which has developed methods for converting natural gas into products such as ethylene, gasoline and diesel fuel using chemical catalysts instead of heat and pressure[2]. The resultant fuels could cost substantially less than crude oil-derived fuels, due to the abundance and low price of natural gas in the US market. The company has received $30m in funding from Saudi Aramco. A test run of the system produced gasoline in Hayward, California in August 2014. The company is opening an office in Houston, Texas as of August 2014.[3][4][5][6][7] The chairman of the board of directors is Karl Kurz, with Edward J. Dineen the CEO. Cofounders include president Alex Tkachenko and director Angela M. Belcher.[8][9]
