Vazhapadi taluk

Valapady taluk is a taluk of Salem district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The headquarters of the taluk is the town of Valapady.

Demographics

According to the 2011 census, the taluk of Vazhapadi had a population of 195,415 with 98,674 males and 96,741 females. There were 980 women for every 1000 men. The taluk had a literacy rate of 86.36. Child population in the age group below 6 was 9,723 Males and 9,072 Females.[1]
