Tellurian Inc. is a natural gas company headquartered in Houston, Texas U.S.A. It was founded in 2016 by Charif Souki and Martin Houston and is led by President and CEO Meg Gentle.

Tellurian Inc. is developing a liquefied natural gas production project, Driftwood LNG, on the west bank of the Calcasieu River, south of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Once complete, the terminal will be able to export up to twenty-seven million, six hundred thousand tonnes of LNG per year to customers worldwide.[2]

History

  • Tellurian was established by Charif Souki (former founder and CEO Cheniere Energy) and Martin Houston (former COO of BG Group plc) in February 2016.[3]
  • The company raised $60 million through friends, family and management in April 2016.[4]
  • After one year in operation, Tellurian became public (NASDAQ: TELL) after a reverse merger with Magellan Petroleum in February 2017.[5]
