George Douglas McAvoy (June 21, 1931 – May 14, 1998[1]) was a Canadian retired professional ice hockey defenceman who played four games in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens.

McAvoy was born in Edmonton, Alberta. McAvoy also played for the Penticton Vees 1955 when they beat Russia 5-0.
