Bassem Sabry (Arabic: باسم صبري) (25 October 1982 – 29 April 2014) was an Egyptian journalist, blogger, and civil rights campaigner who had reported extensively on the Egyptian Revolution. [1][1][2] [3] Al-Monitor eulogized him as being "widely considered to be among the most incisive and respected analysts of the country’s politics."[4] He died on 29 April 2014 at the age of 31 in an accident after falling from the balcony of a Cairo appartment.[5][6]
