The Cutlery Museum is a museum located in Thiers, Puy-de-Dôme in France in the department of Puy-De-Dome.

History

The museum has been open since 1982 to preserve the memory of the Thiers cutlery industry[1].

Description

The Cutlery Museum consists of three buildings distributed between the city center[2], among which the one is dedicated to the history of the cutlery industry (in the former House of the Consuls, registered in Monuments History 1983) and the other one in demonstrations of manufacturing of knives and in exhibition of knives of art, and the village of Castle-strapping lad (Thiers) Château-Gaillard where one can visit the last one rouet in working order (the Spinning wheel Lyonnet, of the name of the last one émouleur to have worked on it, Georges Lyonnet) where worked émouleurs slept[3].
