Bur Salah ([1] Bursaalax is a border town in Somalia

Overview

Bur Salah is situated between Beyra and Rigomane.

Formerly known as Burar, it is named after Saalax Jaamac, who was the owner of a water pool facility in the center of the town.

The Puntland army has a notable presence in the city, which has contributed to local peace.

Demographics

The town is primarily inhabited mainly by the leelkase and Majeerten both sub clans of Darood.

Transportation

A highway connects Bur Salah with Galkayo, the capital of the Mudug region.[2]

Education

Bur Salah currently has several primary and secondary institutions, as well as many Islamic schools (madrassahs).[3][4]
