David José Gomes Oliveira Tavares (born 18 March 1999) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Benfica as a midfielder.

Club career

On 17 September 2019, Tavares debuted for Benfica's first team as a substitute in a 2–1 home loss to RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.

Personal life

Born in Portugal, Tavares is of Cape Verdean descent.[1]
