Iron Station, North Carolina is an unincorporated community in Lincoln County just outside Lincolnton. A primarily industrial town, Iron Station's population was 755 as of 2010.

Iron Station also serves as a feeder community for the larger cities of Charlotte, Hickory, and Lincolnton.

Iron Station has a Post Office. Its ZIP code is 28080.

Ingleside, Magnolia Grove, and Tucker's Grove Camp Meeting Ground are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[1]

Iron Station was named for its history as an iron mining town with a train station.
