BGR Group
BGR Group (Barbour, Griffith & Rogers) is a lobbying firm based in Washington DC that also has an office in London.[1] The firm was founded in 1991 by Ed Rogers and Haley Barbour.[2]
The firm employs various former political figures including Ambassador Kurt Volker, Jeffrey Birnbaum, and Gov. Haley Barbour.[3] Rick Kessler, a lobbyist working for BGR Group, was running for a seat in the Maryland House of Delegates in May, 2014.[4]
- In 2013 the firm was paid $13.7 million for lobbying and its three largest clients were the Republic of India, Ukraine Chevron Corp. and the State of Kazakhstan.[5]
- In 2014 Huffington Post reported that BGR Group was "at the center of [a] lobbyist network" supporting Republican Senator Thad Cochran, while he fought a tight primary election race against Tea Party candidate, Chris McDaniel.[6]
- Since 2015, BGR has worked for American Ethane.[7][8][9]
- In April 2015, the Government of South Korea retained BGR for public relations and image building.[10][11]
- In 2016, BGR Group signed with Saud al-Qahtani to be paid USD $500,000.00, providing "public relations and media management services for The Center [for Studies and Media Affairs at The Saudi Royal Court], which includes both traditional and social media forums".[13]
- In 2017, BGR Group worked for the Government of Ukraine.[14]
- In 2018 BGR Group signed with Sami al Sadhan, the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United States, to "provide public relations and media management services for The Embassy", at monthly fee of USD $80,000.00.[15][16]
- In 2019, Former Republican Representative and CNN political commentator Sean Duffy takes a senior position at BGR Group.[17]
