List of storms named Noel
Appearance
The name Noel was used for three tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean. Coincidentally, all three peaked as Category 1 hurricanes.
- Hurricane Noel (1995) - reached hurricane strength far from land and was absorbed by a cold front without threatening land.
- Hurricane Noel (2001) - started as a subtropical storm well east of Bermuda, reached minimal hurricane strength, but degenerated without threatening land.
- Hurricane Noel (2007) - A hurricane that affected parts of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, Florida, The Bahamas, New England and Canada. It killed 169 people and caused 580 million (2007 USD) in damage.
The name Noel was retired after the 2007 storm, and was replaced by Nestor for the 2013 season.
