Konstantin Buttress

Location of Nordenskjöld Coast on Antarctic Peninsula.

Konstantin Buttress (Bulgarian: рид Константин, ‘Rid Konstantin’ \'rid kon-stan-'tin\) is the ice-covered buttress rising to 1700 m in the southwest foothills of Detroit Plateau on Nordenskjöld Coast in Graham Land. It is situated between southwest-flowing tributaries to Drygalski Glacier, and has precipitous, partly ice-free west and south slopes. The feature is named after Czar Konstantin II of Bulgaria, 1396–1422.

Location

Konstantin Buttress is located at 64°33′45″S 60°50′20″W, which is 9.7 km west-northwest of Glazne Buttress, 4.5 km north of Stoykite Buttress, and 4 km southeast of Odesos Buttress. British mapping in 1978.
