Alexander Burgess

Alexander Burgess (October 31, 1819 – October 8, 1901) was the first bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy. He was a graduate of Brown University and the General Theological Seminary, New York. Burgess was ordained to the diaconate on November 3, 1842, and to the priesthood on November 1, 1843; he was consecrated as a bishop on May 15, 1878.
