Verona Verbakel (Born 15 September 1992 in Gent) is a Belgian actress.

Acting career

Since 2009 Verona Verbakel performs theater with theater company "Ontroerend Goed". She was cast in theater productions like Once and for all we're gonna tell you who we are so shut up and listen and Teenage Riot.

For her performance in Sirens (2014-2017) from the same theater company, she received The stage award for acting excellence for Best Ensemble at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014.[1][2]

In 2013 she was a finalist on Fashion One Correspondent Search.

In 2014 she graduated Magna cum laude at the Royal Conservatory Antwerp (BE) for Drama Acting.

Some of her parts are: a leading part as Maya Meeuws in Belgian series Witse, a supporting part as Marilyn in Belgian series De Zonen van Van As (2015-2017) and she got cast as German Wehrmacht secretary in The Exception (2016).

Currently, she got cast as "Margaret Kelley" in "A Quiet Passion" by Terence Davies. She is the maid of Emily Dickinson, performed by Cynthia Nixon. This movie will premiere in September 2016 in the UK.
