David Earle Johnson was a percussionist.

He played on several albums as a sideman in the 1970s.[1] His first recording as a leader was in 1978: Time Is Free, for Vanguard Records.[1] He recorded Route Two for Landslide Records.[2] His leader career declined after the 1983 album the Midweek Blues.[1]
