Sayers Classical Academy is a private, classical Christian school located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade.
The school is named after Dorothy Sayers, whose essay, "The Lost Tools of Learning," has been highly influential in the modern resurgence of classical education.[2]
The school describes its mission as follows:
Under the authority of Scripture and the lordship of Jesus Christ, Sayers Classical Academy assists Christ-centered parents who seek to be intrinsically involved in their children’s day-to-day development, both academic and Christian growth, in their God-given mandate to educate their children (c.f. Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 and Ephesians 6:4) by providing a distinctively Christian, rigorous, and affordable academic experience.[3]
Students of SCA meet at the school either twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday, for the two day program) or three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, for the three-day program) for focused classroom instruction. Each SCA class also provides lesson plans to guide students on either two or three additional at-home instructional days during the week, so that both programs have a total of five instructional days per week.
