Generic Network Virtualization Encapsulation

Generic Networking Virtualization Encapsulation (GENEVE) is an encapsulation network protocol created by the IETF in order to unify the efforts made by other initiatives like VXLAN and NVGRE.[1] With the intent to eliminate the wild growth of encapsulation protocols.[1][2]
