County Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Sir Llandrindod) is a municipal building in Llandrindod Wells, Wales.
History
Since the early 20th century Radnorshire County Council had used facilities in the High Street at Llandrindod Wells as their "County Buildings".[1] The county Council then moved to larger premises at the former Gwalia Hotel in Ithon Road in 1950.[1][2] Following the implementation of the Local Government Act 1972, Radnorshire County Council was abolished and the new Powys County Council acquired the Pump House Hotel on Spa Road East for use as their headquarters in 1974.[3] After the former hotel was found to be structurally unsound, it was demolished and the modern County Hall building was built on the same site in 1991.[4] The former pump house itself, where the mineral spring was used for treating patients, still survives.[5]
