Adlercreutzia is a genus in the phylum Actinobacteria (Bacteria).[1]

Etymology

The generic name derives from H. Adlercreutz, a professor at the University of Helsinki in Finland, for his contributions to research on the effects of phytoestrogens on human health.[2]

Species

The genus contains a single species,[2] namely A. equolifaciens (Maruo et al. 2008, type species of the genus, New Latin equol; Latin faciens, making; to give equolifaciens, equol-producing.)[3]
