Rafael Vieira Vilar known by his stage name Raf Vilar, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter based in London. His debut album, "Studies in Bossa" was released in Europe in 2011.[1]
Early life
Raf was born and raised at the slums in Rio de Janeiro and began studying music at the age of 13. After graduate in Journalism at age 22, he moved to London.[1]
Career
In 2011 Raf released his debut album Studies in Bossa with "Far Out Recording", the British label that brings to Europe the big names of Brazilian music. The album was on the World Music charts in Japan and has opened the door for big venues such as The Shrine Harlem in New York, "Somerset House" and "Ronnie Scotts" in London. Raf has recorded a session at "BBC Maida Vale Studios" and released "Studies in Bossa Deluxe" on 2013.[1]
