Seagate Software was an international software company formed when Seagate Technology, merged its software assets with Arcada Software which was in the final stages of preparing for an IPO with Goldman Sachs in September 1995. Kevin Azzouz, Arcada CEO was elected by the Seagate board as president and was given the mission to broaden Seagate's software business in an effort to improve its overall multiple to earnings impacting its market valuation.
Seagate Software was sold to Veritas Software in 1999 in a deal worth $1.6 billion.[1]
