Sulejman Maliqati (born 1 August 1928 in Kavajë) is a retired Albanian footballer who played his entire career as goalkeeper for Partizani Tirana football club.[1]
Club career
Maliqati played for hometown club Besa[2] before embarking on a successful career with Partizani, winning 7 league titles with the club. The goalkeeper was known for never wearing gloves during a game.[3]
International career
He made his debut for Albania in a September 1950 friendly match against Hungary and earned a total of 5 caps, scoring no goals. His final international was a June 1963 European Championship qualification match against Denmark.[4]
Personal life
His son Agim Maliqati was also a goalkeeper for Vllaznia and Lokomotiva Durrës.[1] Agim died on 1 May 2012, aged 51.[5]
