May the Devil Take You (Indonesian: Sebelum Iblis Menjemput) is a 2018 Indonesian horror film written and directed by Timo Tjahjanto. The story follows Alfie (Chelsea Islan) who, when trying to find answers to her father's (Ray Sahetapy ) mysterious illness, visits his old house and finds out events from his past.[1][2][3]
The film was internationally released by Netflix on 9 August 2018. A sequel, May the Devil Take You: Chapter Two, is set to be released in 2019. Tjahjanto wrote and produced the sequel, while William Chandra replaced him as director.

Plot
In May the Devil Take You, from Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto, Alfie's (Chelsea Islan) father lies on his deathbed from a mysterious illness. Alfie soon learns that her father has made a pact concerning the whole family with the Devil years before, and now he's coming to collect on it. Alfie, in a search for answers and a way out of the pact, visits her father's old house and finds out events from his past.[4]

It was released on August 9, 2018 on Netflix streaming.
Critical reception
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film received an 83% positive aggregate rating, based on 12 reviews.[5]
