Saint Brendan's College is a Christian Brothers secondary school founded in 1956, and located in Woodbrook, Bray, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland.

The grounds are located on the Dublin Road, just north of Bray. Although, officially, it is over the County Dublin border, it usually referred to as being in County Wicklow and part of Bray. The current building was opened on 5 September 1956, and accommodates approximately 360 students.[citation needed]

The school celebrated its fiftieth year in 2006, thus marking its Golden Jubilee. This led to a presidential visit, and the go-ahead for an entirely new school building, due to begin construction in the summer of 2016.[needs update]

Facilities

The main school building took in its first pupils in September 1960. It is two floors high and contains eleven classrooms, a sports hall, art room, technical graphics room, two woodwork rooms, a computer room, and two science labs. A prefab building is located opposite the main building, across a basketball court. It houses six classrooms. Behind and beside the buildings are a rugby pitch, soccer pitch, and a Gaelic games pitch. The planned school will be built on top of the current Gaelic pitch, and will include a new music and drama room, an additional science lab, an improved sports hall, and will be complemented by two tennis courts.

Subjects

Saint Brendan's offers a range of subjects, both optional and core. Out of the four optional subjects offered for the Junior Cycle, a maximum of two can be taken. Out of the twelve optional subjects for the Senior Cycle, a maximum of four can be taken.[1]
