Maggie Szabo is a Canadian soul and pop singer and songwriter. She has garnered over 13 million views on YouTube, and her single was premiered by Ryan Seacrest.[1] Her collaboration as an artist and songwriter with German DJ Schiller on his album debuted at the first rank in Germany. Her single was premiered by Yahoo! Music.

Early life and education

Szabo was born in Hamilton, Ontario and grew up in Dundas, Ontario. After high school, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her music career.[2] While working on her music, she became a YouTube star, attracting attention by doing covers of current pop hits, including a collaboration with a local band and YouTube sensation, Walk Off The Earth, with their cover of "Party Rock Anthem" reaching over 9 million views.[3] After releasing her debut album, Szabo's music videos started garnering attention with her original songs attracting millions of views on YouTube.[4]

Career

In November 2012, Szabo released her debut pop album "Now Hear Me Out". All original songs on her album were co-written by Szabo with production by Justin Gray (Joss Stone), Gavin Bradley (Nelly Furtado) and Tanya Leah.

After her first album, Maggie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career.[5] Since spending time in Los Angeles, Szabo has gained exposure by playing the original new music to sold-out crowds at the Viper Room, House of Blues, and the Hotel Café. Szabo's music was premiered by Yahoo!, licensed in Criminal Minds and Keeping Up with the Kardashians among others, and shared by Jay Z's platform Tidal.[6][7]

Szabo wrote and recorded her new song ‘Tidal Waves and Hurricanes’, and the accompanying music video to her new single, which was premiered exclusively by Ryan Seacrest.[8]
