The 1954 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos football team represented Santa Barbara College[note 1] during the 1954 college football season.

Santa Barbara competed in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The team was led by seventh-year head coach Stan Williamson, and played home games at La Playa Stadium in Santa Barbara, California. They finished the season with a record of four wins and five losses (4–5, 1–3 CCAA).

  2. ^ The official name of Cal Poly has been California Polytechnic State University since 1947. However, it is more commonly known as either Cal Poly San Luis Obispo or just Cal Poly.
  3. ^ California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) was known as Los Angeles State College of Applied Arts and Sciences from 1947 to 1963.
  4. ^ California State University, Fresno was known as Fresno State College from 1949 to 1971.
  5. ^ The game against the Cal Aggies was part of an "All-UC Doubleheader" that was held annually from 1948 to 1963. The other game of the double-header was California vs. UCLA. The games were always held at the home stadium of either Cal or UCLA.
  6. ^ University of California, Davis was known as Northern Branch of the College of Agriculture from 1922 to 1959. In common usage, the sports teams were called the "Cal Aggies" from 1924 until the mid 1970s.
