The 1991–92 NBA season was the Jazz's 18th season in the National Basketball Association, and 13th season in Salt Lake City, Utah.[1] It was also their first season playing at the Delta Center. The Jazz got off to a 7–6 start as they traded Thurl Bailey to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Tyrone Corbin early into the season. The Jazz would win their final seven games finishing first in the Midwest Division with a 55–27 record. Karl Malone finished second in scoring with 28.0 points per game, while John Stockton led the league in assists for the fifth straight season with 13.7 assists per game. Both Malone and Stockton were selected for the 1992 NBA All-Star Game. In the first round of the playoffs, they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in five games. Then in the semifinals, they defeated the Seattle SuperSonics in five games. However, the Jazz would lose to the top-seeded Portland Trail Blazers four games to two in the Western Conference Finals.[2] Following the season, Blue Edwards was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
